There are graduation ceremonies this week here.
My older daughter’s junior high school had it on March 14, and my younger daughter's elementary school is on March 18.
Today's topic is about a Japanese traditional graduation ceremony, which hasn't been changed at all since I was a student. I'd like to explain 5 different points from oversea ones I can find out.
《Elementary school & Junior high school》
1. Graduation ceremonies are in March in Japan.
2. The seriousness of the ceremonies : Students stand up, sit down, and bow at the same timing and very quietly.
3. The runway among teachers and the other grade students : Graduated students go through the runway.
《Junior high school》 Public elementary schools have no uniforms.
4. School uniforms : Most of Japanese junior high schools have their own uniforms in Japan.
5. The second button on a boy's uniform : Boys give the second buttons on their uniforms to their special girls. So some of girls go to their favorite boys and ask for it after the ceremony. (There is a school mark on a button as the following photo.)
We can understand that who are popular with when we see their uniforms. Handsome boys are taken all the buttons by girls, haha.
I looked for YouTube about a graduation system., though it's not good.
It will be helpful to understand what it is like.
