First Crop in The Family Yard with My Dadaughter

Yesterday, my younger daughter and I took strawberries in the yard beside our house.

We got soooo many strawberries from only 1 line of plants as you see in the photos.
And there are still many left.

These strawberries were planted and taken care of by my older daughter.
When she comes back from school, she goes to strawberries straightly and picks them up.
She always asks me if she can eat only 1 strawberry and put the rests into a refrigerator for her brother and sister.

When she ate 1 strawberry for taste and told with joy that it was very sweet and delicious!!
And after, she looked a little confused, laughed a little, and told again that .....
"Why are the strawberries in my family yard a little bitter?"

Hmmm?
Strawberries are bitter??
I ate one, and understood what she said.
Yeah, it was. Almost of them were very sweet, but after, I felt a little bitter.
Both of us laughed a lot while looking at each other. It was a sweet time, indeed.

And she went to her strawberries before entering the house today too.
Thanks for strawberries and my lovely daughter!

昨日、初めてのイチゴを小学生の娘と収穫しました。
このイチゴは、その娘が苗を選び、植えて、育ててきたもので、この一列のイチゴの苗からこんなにも採れました。

娘はいつも一つ食べていいか私に聞いてから味見をして、それから残りはお兄ちゃんお姉ちゃんの為に、冷蔵庫に入れています。
（食べていいかお伺いを立てることを強要はしてないんだけど、兄姉に言われた時の為に、彼女なりの防御策なのかな？）

昨日も同じように、一つ味見をして、すぐさま甘くて美味しい！と笑顔いっぱいでした。
それからすぐに、ちょっと怪訝そうな顔に変わり、また一言・・・・。

「どうしてうちん家のイチゴは、甘いけど、ちょっと苦いの？」

んんん？
イチゴが苦い？？
そして私も一つ味見。じゃあ、娘の言っていることが分かりました。
確かに大部分は甘い！その辺で売っているイチゴより甘いけれど、その後に、ほわわ～んと苦みがやってくる・・・。
二人顔を見合わせて、しばらく大笑い。

こんな愛らしい時間を持てたイチゴに感謝、そして娘にも感謝です。


今日も娘は学校から帰って来るとすぐに庭の畑に直行。
イチゴを収穫していました。
