From baby to grown-up bamboos in Japan

I thought the bamboo season was over here, but we could take a few yet.

"I want my daughter to pick it up by herself! Wait there bamboo, I will take my daughter soon!! "

We cook and eat them as one of spring dishes. Young bamboo is soft and tastes good.

もう筍のシーズンは終わったと思ってたけど、まだ幾つか採れました。

「筍ちゃん、そこで待っててね。娘に掘らせたいので、すぐ連れてくるからね！」

This is a grown-up bamboo. I thought it was very beautiful green and take a photo.

若い筍のこの美しい緑色がとても好きです。

She was digging around a bamboo with a hoe and did it.
While digging it, a lot of mosquitos were around her legs. She had to keep moving her legs and digging it. You did a great job!

筍を鍬を使って自分で掘りました。今年は実家に帰るタイミングと筍の収穫の時期が合わず、今年初となりました。

掘っている間、蚊がずーっと娘の足を狙ってて、バタバタと足を動かしながらの作業となりました。足場が不安定な中、その場行進をしながらの筍収穫…頑張りましたね。
