Public Elementary Schools in Japan

We start schools in April and finish in March, and have 3 periods and 3 vacations in Japan.学校
We have opening and closing ceremonies per each period, an entrance ceremony and a graduation ceremony, too.

We basically have 6 lessons a day, 45 mins a lesson on weekdays. Japanese elementary students should be busy from 8:30 to 15:30.

Students also have daily tasks besides subjects, like morning studies before the start, cleaning their classrooms and other places they use and lunch services. 驚く
Though they have only 2 breaks, both are for about 25 mins, they follow a busy timetable everyday.走る走る

Kids walk to and from school in groups.aya
Every group has a group leader and a sub-group one, who are the oldest. They watch others walk safely and if someone young have troubles, the leaders take care of them.キラハートキラハート
I remembered a 6th grade leader to take my kid's bag all the way because my kid had to have many bags.笑笑
They should bring their textbooks and notebooks everyday in their satchels named "randoseru", so they are very heavy.あせ

Subjects kids study are the following...
にこにこにこにこ

Math, Japanese, Science, Social studies, GYM, Music, Art and Crafts, Calligraphy, Home and Economics, Moral, Club activities and School Committee.

And they sometimes have an English teacher to enjoy English songs and games.
