My visit in Kyoto on last Saturday

Visited 2 temples and 1 castle with my friend last Saturday.

My friend had to go to "Shougoin temple"(聖護院寺）, to return a good luck charm her working company got 1 year ago.

After, we moved to another temple I have wanted to visit for a long time, named "Sanjusangendo temple".(三十三間堂）

After our lunch, we went to Nijo castle, which is one of world hermitages and there are some beautiful gardens there.

I will write about "Sanjusangendo temple" here.

This is one of places where I do recommend you to visit.

As you see, there are so many Buddhist statues in this temple. The number is 1001.

There is one big statue in the center, and another 500 statues on both sides of it, so 1001 in total.

Each of them have 11 small heads on a big one and 40 hands.

But all of them don't have the same one.

They have different faces and all the angles of the bodies are not the same.

Do you know why they are totally different, and not the same one?

It's because everyone going to pray there, can be listened to and accepted by them.

You could find the best one facing and seeing only you if you look for it, haha.

When I saw them, I was so impressed with the scales and shining gold. I recommend you here strongly when you visit Kyoto.


先週の土曜日に、ずっと会ってなかった親友と遊びました。
友だちの会社が一年前に貰ったお札を返しに聖護院寺に、それから私がずっと行きたかった三十三間堂に行きました。

お昼を食べた後、二条城見学、それから飲みに行くという朝から、夜中まで随分と喋ったし、食べたし、飲んだし、遊んだ。
大満足の一日でした。

三十三間堂の説明を上ではしているけれど、ここでは私たちのランチの紹介。京都の岡崎動物園の近くの自然派お惣菜ブッフェを食べました。むっちゃ美味しかったよ～～
