Happy Valentine!

Last Sunday, my younger daughter asked me to take her to a supermarket, because she wanted to cook sweets for the Valentine's Day.

In Japan, this day is opposite from one in the world, and the event to give something from a girl to a boy, but my son told me young generation don't tell their feelings on that day by giving something and just for girls to show their friendships. And he also told he wouldn't send back to girls "Tappa joshi", or "girl with a plastic container" in English.
I wonder in my mind he told that for the reason not to get sweets from a girl...

I asked for him what "Tappa joshi" is like, and he answered a girl packed some kinds of sweets in a plastic container and told boys to feel free to take some. Some of the girls seem to just making boys come to her without going to boys...
I don't understand why those girls cook homemade sweets at home for boys, because they don't want even to bring and give with some messages,  and wants to leave the sweets there.

The above photo is what she cooked this year and the following is from her friends. Other of the 2 friends would bring to her after school, she said.

ハッピーバレンタイン！

先週の日曜日に、次女にスーパーに連れて行って欲しいと言われ、バレンタインチョコの材料を買いに行って来ました。

次女の買い物能力を見てやろうと１００均とスーパーが一緒になったたまに行く大型店に連れて行きました。
「賢く買い物をしてね」と言って様子を見ることにしました。

娘：「どこに行けばいいの？」
私：「１００均も、普通のスーパーも両方あるよね、どうしようか…。どこで買えば安く買えるか考えて」

まっすぐにスーパーに入ろうとした娘を呼び止め、どちらがお得か考えさせ、１００均だと答えた娘から「１００均って何階やったっけ？」と…。
トホホ、何回も行ったことのある所なのに、しかもすぐ近くに施設の案内板があるのに、分からないのか....。

広いスーパーの中で、どこがバレンタイン売り場なのか、それも探せない様子。
ようやく見つけたチョコ売り場で、ミルクの板チョコを１０枚、ホワイトチョコも数えてる娘に、「こちらにお徳用があるけど…。どちらが安いのかな？」とまた口を挟みました。

この春、中学一年生になる娘ですが、生きていく力が弱いなって思いました。可愛がり過ぎたかな…。
でもそんな抜け抜け感も、頼りなさも可愛いと感じてしまうダメな母親です。

一番上の写真が、今年次女が作ったバレンタインのチョコレートです。下の写真は友だちから貰ったやつ。放課後に数名のお友達が家まで持って来てくれるらしい。

長男によると、今はバレンタインに告白するというダサいことをする女子はおらんと。
女子が友チョコを配る日なんだと。しかも最近は「タッパ女子」が流行っているみたい。

タッパ女子？
何種類かのお菓子をタッパに詰めて、「食べたい人がここに来て食べて」というスタンスらしい。もはや男子の所に持って来てすらしてくれないらしい。
そんなタッパ女子には絶対お返しはしないと言ってたけど、単に貰えない言い訳をしてるだけなのかな？

もちろん、長男にはそんなことは言いませんでした、笑
