My Kid's Elementary School Day Trip

This is the newspaper she made at the Kidzania.

She came back satisfied and delightedly from her school’s day trip yesterday.

We have school day trips twice in a year, spring and fall in Japan.

Almost schools here go to somewhere considered from their ages and for their studies by their teachers every grades, but my kid’s school is small, so every 2 grades like the 1st and 2nd go to the same day trip.

The 5th and 6th grade kids went to a kid’s amusement park of Kidzania in Hyogo prefecture.

Since there are the facilities all over the world, you might know what it is.

She left home at 7:15am, went there by chartered bus, played there in the groups of 3 and came back home at 3:45pm.

She went to as much as 8 working booths of hospitals, companies and hotel.

She worked as a surgeon, maternity nurse, dentist, journalist, electric engineer, hotel girl, workers at a sweet company and printing one.

She said a maternity nurse was the much interested among them.

I think nurses are very kind and caring, but she is used to being taken care of in my family and tends to select what she wants before others… I thought she was essentially apart from a nurse in my mind, but I didn’t hurt her by saying my honest opinion, hehe.

Anyway, she worked a lot with fun and bought a favorite orange pen from her earnings. And she showed it and left money.

She talked about everything she did, suddenly she sighed a little…

“Today was an English day there and they explained their works in English. I had a loooooot of troubles to understand what we did. As I looked at what they did carefully, I could understand what I should do though…”

Hahaha, she had so many good memories there with her friends.

I could understand that from her face.

昨日は末っ子の小学校の遠足でした。

毎年春と秋の年に二回、遠足があり、娘の小学校は小規模校なので、いつも２学年ごとに遠足に出掛けます。

行き先は甲子園のキッザニア。

朝の７時１５分に家を出て（家が学校から遠い友だちは、６時４５分が集合時間だったみたい！）、現地では３人ペアになり仕事体験をして、帰宅は３時４５分でした。

彼女の班は、全部で８か所回ったそうで、稼げるだけ稼いだよ！と、なんてまあ欲張り、これが実際の話なら頼もしい話だけどねえ。

外科医、助産師、歯科医、ジャーナリスト、電気工事士、お菓子工房、印刷工房、ホテルマンの全部で８つのお仕事の中で、一番興味を持ったのが助産師だったと話していました。

助産師・・・？誰が？？

我が家では一番末っ子なので、面倒を見て貰うことには慣れてるけど、どちらかと言えば、気付くタイプでもなさそうだし、自分の欲求や都合を優先するタイプなはずなので、人のお世話をするにはちょっと不向きかも～と内心思いましたが、それは口にしませんでした、笑。

ともかく一杯お仕事をして、その稼いだお金でお気に入りのペンを買って来たよ！と見せてくれました。それとこれだけお金が残ったけど、他には何も買えなかったんだって。

一通り報告を済ませたボソッとため息交じりに・・・。

「今日は英語の日らしくてさ。説明もぜ～んぶ英語やってん。何をしたらいいのかじーっと見てたら分かったけど、むっちゃ大変やったわ・・・。」

たまたま行った日が英語の日。

それはみんなどんな顔をしながら説明を聞いてたのか、手に取るように分かるなあ、笑。

でも、それも良い思い出。

お友達と沢山の思い出を作れて大満足だったのが、娘の顔を見て伝わって来ました。

そして、そのお裾分けに、ハイチューのパイナップル味を娘から貰いました。

一粒がむっちゃでっかい！口中爽やかなパイナップルの味が広がり、私も幸せ気分になりました。
