What Are These Plants and Tree ~Answer~

Did you guess what flowers of 3 photos in the day before yesterday's blog were?
I answer them.
1, Strawberries : We say "ichigo"

We can get strawberries in a supermarket all year,
but strawberry season is early spring, especially March and April.
Japanese strawberries are very soft and sweet.
My Finnish friends were surprised at the sweetness and liked it.
Please try it, when you visit here during the season.

2, Plum tree  :  We say "pulam".

I like this flowers, very lovely. Plum season is from August to October.
Fresh plum is really different from processed goods like jam.
It's very sweet with a little sour.

3, Green peas  :  We say "endo- mame"

There are some kinds of green peas in Japan, and these 2 peas are very typical.
The second one is called "Kawakui- Endo"or "Snap-Endo",
the third is "Mikui- Endo" or just "Endo".
"Kawakui" means "what we eat skins", we can eat all of a green pea.
"Mikui" means "what we eat fruits.", we can eat only inside of green peas.

Green peas in my yard have bloomed gradually.
It's convenient to have them for kids' packed lunch, or "bento" every weekday.

My 14 year-old daughter has made her bento by herself, like as my son did.
She can cook very well and quickly.
So my son and daughter have a good score for cooking practice of house economics.
According to my son, he was the definitely first prize in a competition to peel an apple in his class by sheer dint of effort to make bento during a year.
I'm wondering if my daughter would graduate from making bento now.
